With one in three young people unemployed or under-employed¹, it’s the most challenging time for those trying to join the workforce in over two decades. We are determined to support local young people who need a leg-up to kick-start their career, and with your help we can.
How you can help
There are many ways local employers or professionals can get involved in our programs. Provide a young person with a real-world work experience opportunity through:
• SWL Placement - school student
• YMCP Placement - post-school young person
• School-Based Apprenticeship/Traineeship
• Participate in practise interviews
• Be a guest speaker
• Become a mentor
• Host a workplace tour
• Sponsor a program or event
Why get involved?
Bringing in young members of the community helps your organisation in many ways:
• Trial a student passionate about your industry
• Contribute to your community’s future workforce and provide hope for young people
• Raise the profile of your business
• Develop the coaching skills of existing staff
• Allow a student to successfully pass their Vocational certificate or course through hands-on experience
